Remembering the Magic from a Disney Wedding
How this artist worked to recapture an unforgettable moment
The story of this fairy-tail wedding is a bit different from my typical clients. When this couple first approached me it had been some time since their wedding. They got wind of the portraits I have done in the past, and needed my help to create a perfect 10-year anniversary gift.
They had gone all out for Disney’s Wedding Pavilion Package at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. They even had Cinderella’s Castle as their backdrop. Although the wedding turned out perfect, there was a small snag.
The photographer captured wonderful moments throughout their wedding, but there just wasn't that one perfect shot of the lovestruck couple with the iconic Cinderella Castle in the background.

Sure, a Disney Princess wedding sounds dreamy, but in reality, with all the moving parts involved in a wedding, sometimes that one magical moment gets missed. The bride had her heart set on a picture to hang on her wall, capturing her Cinderella moment. And you know what? I was up for the challenge to make that dream come true.
Recreating my client’s special moments from photographs was certainly nothing new to me, and with the couple’s reference photos in hand and a mind already bursting with ideas, I dove in.

Because the Cinderella Castle didn't quite shine through in their photos, it was very important that the castle made an appearance in the painting. On top of that we wanted to combine some of the scenery and tropical florals from their other wedding photos, in order to create a beautiful image that really encapsulated all the details of their wedding.
Using the magic of canvas and brush I was able to combine all the aspects that the couple was looking for. Taking a candid photo, and transforming it into an enchanted moment.
This is what sets a wedding portrait apart from a photograph, it gives you the opportunity to add a little fairy-dust and whimsy to your special day.
The finished painting was acrylic on canvas, and the couple was over the moon to finally have a keepsake of their happily ever after. Although I love performing at Florida weddings, it was just as special to be a part of this couple's story.
